Gentle To Your Senses (Easy On Your Mind)

Larry Williams

© Figs D Music, BMI

You've been hurt so many times it shows on your face
How I wish I could stand in your lover's place
I would show you how to win at life's oldest game
I won't be hard to live with you won't be the same

Cause I'll be gentle to your senses I'll be easy on your mind
Ever understanding and kind
I'll keep my eyes on tomorrow I won't look behind
I'll be gentle to your senses and easy on your mind
[ instrumental ]
You might say your weary heart can't take anymore
But I know I can take you through an open door
It will lead you to someone who needs your company
I won't be hard to live with you'll be so free

Cause I'll be gentle to your senses I'll be easy on your mind...
I'll be gentle to your senses I'll be easy on your mind...

God Made Love

Dennis Linde - Johnny McRae - Mel McDaniel

© Combine Music, BMI

God made love like he made the roses
A miracle for all the world to share
All the sweetness is in the blossom
That only comes from true tender care

God made a woman like he made the mountains
A thing of beauty standin' proud and strong
Sometimes abused sometimes unwanted
But never replaced once they're gone

God made life like a raging river
Always restless and never dry
Lovers who cross it must cling together
So few make it so many try

God made man like he made the wild wind
Always searchin' always alone
Until he touches that certain woman
Finds a lover and finds a home

God made life like a raging river...

Lovers who cross it must cling together
And we can make it darling you and I

I'll Just Take It Out In Love

Bob McDill

© Hall-Clement Pub, BMI

I gave you love when you were lonely
I gave you strength when times were bad
I've been a daddy to your children
I've dried your tears when you were sad

But darling you don't need to thank me
Having you is thanks enough
And if there's anything you owe me
Darling I'll just take it out in love
[ instrumental ]
I've been your friend when you were troubled
I've stood by you when things went wrong
And I've picked you up each time you stumbled
When you were weak I was strong

But darling you don't need to thank me...
Darling I'll just take it out in love

Roll Your Own

Mel McDaniel

© Maple Music, ASCAP

If you don't like the way they make 'em in the city
Cause they taste too strong the dang paper ain't pretty
Roll your own roll your own
You'll leave the ready rolls behind when you finally find
A roll your own

Well there's the raspberry strawberry pretty red wine
Besides tastin' good you're gonna have a nice time
Roll your own hm roll your own
You're gonna have a nice time not lyin' ain't lyin'
Roll your own

Well the first time you try it you're gonna cuss and shout
Cause the paper keeps tearin' and the dang stuff falls out
But don't give up cause after a while
You'll be tokin' right on with a big ole smile
Roll your own hm roll your own
[ instrumental ]
When you finally get the hang of rollin' your own
You want to share it with a friend let 'em pass it along
Everybody hm roll your own
But when you finally get the touch you won't smoke so dang much
Roll your own
You're gonna thank the Lord above when ya'll try makin' love
Roll your own yeah

T. J. 's Last Ride

Dennis Linde

© Combine Music, BMI

Saturday in this town as we bury TJ Brown
Good man spent his life on the K Roll ferry line
He was just a man nothing grand just a man
But I never heard him treat no one unkind

He ferried model A's to the Cape Gerardo shore
Way before my popa ever had a son
When I was eight or nine I would sit by his back porch
He would tell me stories from back in World War one

Let him down slow in the ground slow
Let him down slow while I dry my eyes
Let him down slow in the ground slow
Let him down slow it's old TJ's last ride

TJ's wife passed on it was back in '61
Seems like yesterday my my how the time does fly
Still I would drop by and we'd sit and reminisce
And I'd stare across the river so as not to watch him cry

Let him down slow in the ground slow...

Well now here we stand with our memories and prayers
Mourning and crying down to the youngest child
Lord all that's gathered here will remember TJ Brown
He will miss his river and we'll miss his old smile

Let him down slow in the ground slow...
Let him down slow in the ground slow...

Soul Of A Honky Tonk Woman

Bob Morrison - Herb Coleman

© Music City Music, ASCAP

She puts on her makeup each evening and makes up the story she'll tell
Then she heads for a neighborhood tavern and the night life that she knows well
There's always somebody there waitin' to whisper sweet talk in her ear
He'll lie when he tells her he loves her and leave her cryin' honky tonk tears

And she can fool anybody she wants to but a honky tonk man he can see
Down to the soul of a honky tonk woman and the lady she's wantin' to be

Nobody would guess she's unhappy laughter hides all of her pain
But a honky tonk man knows the difference he's livin' his life just the same
Tonight I'll try to give her some reasons then maybe she'll give some to me
I'm gonna let her know that she's wanted for more than a honky tonk memory

And she can fool anybody she wants to but a honky tonk man he can see...
And she can fool anybody she wants to but a honky tonk man he can see...
She can fool anybody she wants to but a honky tonk man he can see...

Takin' My Dreams Out On You

Bob Morrison - Johnny McRae

© Music City Music, ASCAP

Once I felt your gentle heart beating close to mine
Once I touched you silken skin and looked in eyes that shine
But fools are born to make mistakes the way I did with you
Why did I choose a cheating heart and lose a love so true

Now I'm takin' my dreams out on you
That's all my heart gives me freedom to do
Livin' the love we once knew
Takin' my dreams out on you

God what I'd give for one more chance to whisper soft and low
All the things I should have said to you so long ago
I'd be all the many things you wanted me to be
But nothing I can say or do will bring you back to me

So I'm takin' my dreams out on you...
So I'm takin' my dreams out on you...

Plastic Girl

Kent Finlay

© Unichappell Music, BMI

Well I knew I had to have her and I sent off in the mail
When I saw her picture in that magazine
And when the postman brought her I thrilled when I blew up
The prettiest plastic girl you've ever seen

Well I called my new girl Wendy and Wendy blew my mind
Cause no one ever had her before me
And girls like that are gettin' awful hard to find
So I plan to keep her till eternity

Oh she's a life size wife size full grown blow-up plastic girl
And ain't nothin' missin'
And she's more than just a friend and she never has a headache
Or bad breath when we're kissin'
And she's there when you need her and she doesn't have a dog
And her skin's as smooth as a pearl
She's a life size wife size full grown blow-up plastic girl

Now I didn't tell nobody except my best friend Earl
Cause you can't trust just anyone you see
And ever night when I came home all tired from makin' pizza
Wendy would be waitin' there for me

And she always left me breathless ever time I blew her up
Aw the way she filled out that see through gown
And my ego got inflated ever time that she did
Cause I felt sure she needed me around

Oh she's a life size wife size full grown blow-up plastic girl...

One night I came home anxious with Wendy on my mind
And it broke my heart in two when I walked in
And found the one I always thought would always be just mine
Layin' there with Earl my best friend

Well I never dreamed that Wendy would be the cheatin' kind
And I didn't think that Earl would let me down
But you don't know what can happen in these mixed up times
Cause there sure are lots of weirdos runnin' round

Oh she's a life size wife size full grown blow-up plastic girl
And I'm gonna miss her
Cause she was more than just a friend and she never had a headache
Or bad breath when I would kiss her
But a man must have his pride so I can't take her back now
Not after catchin' her and Earl
Aw my life size wife size full grown blow-up plastic girl

(My plastic girl)

Reachin' High For Rainbows

Jerry Vann

© Combine Music, BMI

Turnin' back the pages I remember how it was with you and me
You were just eighteen or so and I was still a kid at twenty-three
And we had our share of hard times when we married in the spring of '61
But you remember don't you babe how it was to be in love when we were young

It was wakin' in the morning and feelin' deep inside that we belong
It was makin' love and dreamin' and hopin' that the best was yet to come
It was talkin' of tomorrow learnin' how to fly and how to fall
It was reachin' high for rainbows and believin' one by one we'd catch 'em all

Lookin' back I wonder how we ever made it down the road this far
Cause I'm still workin' for the county and our savings won't half fill a mason jar
But after all we're still together and I don't regret one thing we ever tried
We're still reachin' ain't we babe and hopin' that old wishin' well ain't dry

Yeah we're wakin' in the morning and knowin' deep inside that we belong
Makin' love and dreamin' and lookin' back on all the things we've done
Talkin' of tomorrow still learnin' how to fly and how to fall
We're still reachin' high for rainbows but I don't believe we'll ever catch 'em all

Hmm in fact we ain't never caught no rainbows
Honey I don't suppose it really matters much at all
We'll wakin' in the morning and knowin' deep inside that we belong
Keep makin' love and dreamin' and lookin' back on all the things we've done

Have A Dream On Me

Bob Morrison

© Music City Music, ASCAP

Now ain't she somethin' you can't take your eyes away
I know you're thinkin' of the things you'd like to say
You'd like to meet her and get to know more than her name
Well I don't blame you cause I'd be feelin' just the same

So buddy have a dream on me have a midnight fantasy
Dream about how it would be to hold her tight
Go on and have a dream on me oh I won't mind at all you see
Cause the lady's goin' home with me tonight
[ instrumental ]
You'd like to hold her and taste the sweetness of her lips
And feel her body trembling to your fingertips
So your wishful thinking it's not hurting anything
She's always taken the lady wears my wedding ring

So buddy have a dream on me have a midnight fantasy...
Yeah buddy have a dream on me have a midnight fantasy...
