The light slowly comes to the gray morning sky
A brown paper sack and a tear in my eye
This bottle of wine and the sun keeps me warm
Heck I'll sleep all day long if there isn't a storm

A red faced old man with his collar turned up
A prayer book a sermon hot soup in a cup
A wino a hobo come in from the cold
It's the Bible Way Mission a place for lost souls

The streets is my family and home
(I stumble on down towards that blue flashing sign)

I sleep in the day and I wander at night
I don't know what's wrong but I sure know it ain't right
The weak and the weary can find rest today
