Well I've been on the road a long long time
That's neither here nor there
I gave my youth to a honky tonk woman
But I don't remember where
And it's been (it's been) so long (so long)
It used to be weak now it's strong
And you look (you look) so fine (so fine)
You know you got me out o' my mind
And now I feel like somethin's happenin'
I don't wanna slow it down (slow it down)
I got no need for holdin' back
You tore my roadblocks down
And it's love revival (yeah)
It's a sweet arrival
It's a love revival (yeah)
It's a sweet arrival
And I've seen life through a midnight eye
And both my feet on the ground
I learned to walk before I ran
Then I took a look around
And it's been (it's been) so long (so long)
It used to be weak now it's strong
And you look (you look) so fine (so fine)
You know you got me out o' my mind
And now I feel like somethin's happenin'
I don't wanna slow it down (slow it down)
I got no need for holdin' back
You tore my roadblocks down
And it's love revival (yeah)
It's a sweet arrival
It's a love revival (yeah)
It's a sweet arrival
[ instrumental ]
It's love revival (yeah)
It's a sweet arrival
It's a love revival
Yes it's a sweet arrival
It's a love revival
It's a sweet arrival
It's a love revival

I turn your hole card upside down
I caught you cheatin' and runnin' around
There's a smile upon your face while another takes my place
And now at last dear the truth I'd found
Babe there's the green light you're free to go
You'll take the high road I'll take the low
Here's your coat and shoes and don't forget your blues
You're on canoe now you'll have to row
[ instrumental ]
Babe there's the green light so shift your gears
I know you fooled me for all these years
But I'll hold my head up high and I forget you by and by
And there'll be laughter instead of tears
Girl there's the green light kick up your heels
There'll come a day you'll know how I feel
Just to have your aces trump and be taken for a chump
Now there's the green light so spin your wheels
Babe there's the green light you're free to go...

I can't treat you like a lady anymore
And it's best if I don't see you again
Cause every time I see you I go crazy
And you know you can't trust a crazy man
I lose control every time you walk into the room
Each time I see your lovely face and smell your sweet perfume
When you're around me I do things that I don't understand
And you know you can't trust a crazy man
I can't stand to see you and not touch you
My feelings for you have gotten out of hand
Cause every time I see you I go crazy
And you know you can't trust a crazy man
I lose control every time you walk into the room
Each time I see your lovely face and smell your sweet perfume
When you're around me I do things that I don't understand
And you know you can't trust a crazy man
And you know you can't trust a crazy man

The star of this song is a tall dark and handsome
Young cowboy who sang in a bar
His pointed toed boots and rhinestone suits
Seemed to sing along with his guitar
As he pored out his feelings in songs to the women
Who came there to make him their man
Till she came along and sang him a song
That stole him away from his fans
With her red hair a blazing she'd sit by the stage
And hit every note with her eyes
They were green as the summer and deep as the night
So they easily hid all her lies
He fell for her sweetness cause she'd found his weakness
And wrapped up his heart in her hands
So he traded his rhinestones for new diamond rings
And ended his country star plans
Now he's tall dark and lonesome she took everything but his name
And ran away with his love songs like an outlaw would hold up a train
He's tall dark and lonesome he'll never love anymore
And he don't feel like singin' cause his heart is still stingin'
From the way that she closed the door
Now a lonely old cowboy just sits on a barstool
Each night as he cries in his beer
Bout the songs he's forgotten and the fans he once had
And the lady that's been gone for years
There's holes in his boots and the rhinestones are gone
And his guitar don't have any strings
His dark hair is greying and his eyes are blood red
From the sickness a broken heart brings
Now I'm tall dark and lonesome she took everything but my name
And ran away with my love songs like an outlaw would hold up a train
I'm tall dark and lonesome I'll never love anymore
And I don't feel like singin' 'cause my heart is still stingin'
From the way that she closed the door
I'm tall dark and lonesome she took everything but my name...

Now Billy Cole was a small man
And he'd drink at the Gator Bar
His pleasure was minding his own business
And sipping from a Mason jar
All his habits were a mystery
But everyone seemed to know
That when 9 p.m rolled around
The Gator Bar would see Billy Cole
One Saturday night after dark
This dude and a chick walked in
Now the guy was tough and he had a big mouth
And he wanted to impress his friends
So he strolled to the bar and he picked out Billy
Struck him from behind
The small man folded and fell to the floor
Still with an aching mind
Well the big man grinned and yelled at the crowd
As he pretended to wipe off his hands
"A-tell that boy when he wakes up
That was judo from Japan"
Well a short time later Billy Cole came to
And he climbed to the top of the stool
He knew about judo and karate from Korea
But his mama didn't raise no fool
So he stepped outside and soon returned
And walked up to the giant in the booth
The big man cringed and crumpled up
It was the big mouth's moment of truth
And Billy Cole walked out the door
To the strains of the jukebox chords
And he said if and when that cat wakes up
Tell him that was a crowbar from Montgomery Ward
Oh my soul I tell ya one thing
I ain't no I ain't no I ain't no Johnny Cash
And that ain't no Boy Named Sue either
Cry baby cry baby cry baby
Crowbar that what it is
Oh he knocked both eyes over in one socket
Oh yes

I stumble through the door and I order one more round
Someone laughs the bartender says "Son you'd better sit down"
What they don't know is life don't matter since you set me free
So every time I think of you I order one for me
I haven't got so low where every girl looks good to me
But I can't seem to face the morning without a drink or maybe three
Just where you go when no one loves you is more than I can see
So every time I think of you I order one for me
And that man in the mirror Lord he looks so bad to me
Behind the wine and the wasted time he's not what I want to be
But since you left me life don't matter and I chase your memory
A glass of wine could ease my mind so I order one for me
[ instrumental ]
And that man in the mirror Lord he looks so bad to me
Behind the wine and the wasted time he's not what I want to be
But since you left me life don't matter and I chase your memory
A glass of wine could ease my mind so I order one for me
So every time I think of you I order one for me

I remember when today was tomorrow
I remember when yesterday was today
I remember when we both had a future
Oh I'm sorry things turned out this way
Which way is gone I hear that's where you are
Never knew goodbye could ever be so far
From goodbye to gone is from tomorrow to today
Oh I'm sorry things turned out this way
I remember when we both had nothing
But with nothing we had you and me
Seems that all we ever gain is a heartache
Oh I'm sorry things turned out this way
Which way is gone I hear that's where you are
Never knew goodbye could ever be so far
From goodbye to gone is from tomorrow to today
Oh I'm sorry things turned out this way

My name you will find on the tail of my shirt
I'm a Tennessee hustler never do worse
I kiss a different woman with the fall of each dew
Always singing these good woman blues
I been playin' music back in Tennessee
Lot of women there they think the world of mine
Memphis and Nashville Chattanooga too
Always singing these good woman blues
Good woman blues Lord they never get me down
Too many women always around
I strike like the lightening and bringing good news
Always singing these good woman blues
[ instrumental ]
Well a woman in Dallas she's on my mind
Texas women are the tie me down kind
I just keep on walking with my traveling shoes
Always singing these good woman blues
Well sunny California I can hear you call
Got more women there than a freight train can haul
Your warm red wine and your sun is good news
Always singing these good woman blues
Good woman blues Lord they never get me down...

You accuse me of runnin' all over town
You make me feel lower than a snake on the ground
You ask me how many strange loves I've known
Well my only strange love is my strange love at home
Your trust must have rusted it's not workin' anymore
You're lookin' for lipstick when I step through the door
Your faith in me faded like the end of a song
And my only strange love is my strange love at home
[ instrumental ]
We held to each other too long to turn loose
But you're changin' so fast that I ask what's the use
Your doubt is mistaken and you're takin' me wrong
'Cause my only strange love is my strange love at home
Your trust must have rusted it's not workin' anymore
You're lookin' for lipstick when I step through the door
Your faith in me faded like the end of a song
And my only strange love is my strange love at home
Yes my only strange love is my strange love at home

Pictures I close my eyes and I see pictures
And it's such a lonely shade of blue
Pictures all I have left is pretty pictures
One for every memory of you
Once again I see you when you run to me
Just the way you did so long ago
One more time your love is mine so young and free
Funny how a mind just won't let go
Pictures I guess I'll always live with pictures
Hangin' in the hallway of my mind
Pictures I'll always keep these precious pictures
In memory of the love you left behind
Pictures I close my eyes and I see pictures
And it's such a lonely shade of blue
Pictures all I have left is pretty pictures
One for every memory of you
