WAITIN' IN YOUR WELFARE LINE

(Buck Owens - Don Rich - Nat Stuckey) « © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Well I ain't got nothing but the shirt on my back and an old two button suit
I walked out on my job about a week ago and I'm sleepin' in a telephone booth
But I'm gonna be the richest guy around the day you say you're mine
I got the hungrys for your love so I'm waitin' in your welfare line

Oh when I first saw you babe you nearly made me wreck my old 49 Cadillac
I could tell at a glance that it was you for me well I had to have your love by heck
I'm gonna follow you baby wherever you go I got nothin' to lose but my time
I got the hungrys for your love so I'm waitin' in your welfare line
[ guitar ] Well you made me the top dog on your hill and I was overjoyed
But it didn't take long till the thrill was gone I joined the ranks of the unemployd
Now I'm right back where that I started from but that ain't gonna change my mind
I got the hungrys for your love so I'm waitin' in your welfare line
Waitin' in your welfare line for a hand out waitin' in your welfare line

ALL MY GOOD TIMES ARE GONE

(Nat Stuckey) « © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI / Su-Ma Publishing, BMI »
All the good times they sing of in songs
We live night and day for so long
Till the love that was so right went wrong
Now all my good times are gone

Together the laughter came easy and free
But I was laughing with you while you were laughing at me
Now the life of the party's alone
And all my good times are gone
[ piano ] Together the laughter came easy and free...
Oh all of my good times are gone

YOU'RE PUTTIN' ME ON

(Nat Stuckey) « © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI / Su-Ma Publishing, BMI »
Well I fell for your sweet talk once before
But I ain't a gonna fall again
I believed your lies and your alibis
And it's the reason for the shape I'm in
Well the last time I believed in you
Was the last time I got burned yeah I finally learned
You're just puttin' me on

You're puttin' me on about how you can't go livin' without my love
You're puttin' me on when you say that night and day I'm all you're dreamin' of
Every time you open your mouth to talk
I can see the little snowflakes fall you don't love me at all
You're just puttin' me on
[ guitar ] Well I bet you had fun sneakin' up on me
Like you did a lotta boys before
But your little boy blue drives your way into school
I'll bet you don't sneak no more

And the next time I believe somethin' you say
It would be cold day in July and I can you why
You're just puttin' me on

You're puttin' me on about how you can't go livin' without my love
You're puttin' me on when you say that night and day I'm all you're thinkin' of
Every time you open your mouth to talk
I can see the little snowflakes fall you don't love me at all
You're just puttin' me on
Sorry to talk you're puttin' me on

ANYWHERE I AM

(Nat Stuckey) « © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI / Su-Ma Publishing, BMI »
Anywhere I am when the sun goes down
There ain't no other place that I'd rather be
Just give me some coffee for my cup and a songbird to wake me up
And the good warm sun to shine a little all day on me

I know I don't have a lot healt and happiness is all I've got
But I know money brings misery and I don't want it robbin' off on me
Anywhere I am when the sun goes down
There ain't no other place that I'd rather be
[ guitar ] Anywhere I am when the sun goes down
There ain't no other place that I'd rather stay
And if I wanna go somewhere I got a thumb and it'll take me there
And a smile that'll get me a hand out along the way

Other men work their lives away sun up to sun down everyday
So they'd quit their work somehow to have everything that I've got right now
Oh anywhere I am when the sun goes down
There ain't no other place that I'd rather be

Yes anywhere I am when the sun goes down
There ain't no other place on earth for me

ALL MY TOMORROWS

(Nat Stuckey) « © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI / Su-Ma Publishing, BMI »
I'll start reliving my yesterdays while all my tomorrows die

I just lost my last hope of happiness I watched her as she walked away
My mind was still numb by her leaving I guess for it thought of nothing to say
But a moment from now when her steps fade away like the echo of her last goodbye
Then I'll start reliving my yesterdays while all my tomorrows die
[ steel ] I should have known better but I took the chance and I loved her with all of my heart
What else could I do when even her glance pretend to tear me apart
And to live day by day knowing she won't return is useleess I won't even try
So I'll start reliving my yesterdays while all my tomorrows die
I'll start reliving my yesterdays while all my tomorrows die

WALK THROUGH THIS WORLD WITH ME

(Sandy Seamons - Kaye Savage) « © '66 Glad Music, BMI / Pappy Daily Music, BMI »
Walk through this world with me go where I go
And share all my dreams with me I need you so
In life we search and some of us find
And I've looked for you for a long long time
And now that I found you new horizons I see
So take my hand walk through this world with me
[ steel ] Walk through this world with me go where I go
And share all my dreams with me I've searched for you so
And now that I found you new horizons I see
So take my hand walk through this world with me

I KNEW HER WHEN

(George Woodland) « © '66 Sunny Brook Music, BMI »
He showed me her picture his eyes showed his pride
And I knew he'd never believe that she'd lie
He swears that he loves her and he will till the end
He thinks she's an angel but I knew her when

Yes I knew her when she was mine
And just like him my love was true and blind
But I learned the hard way so will he in the end
Cause he thinks she's an angel but I knew her when
[ piano - steel ] Yes he calls her his angel his eyes all aglow
But her halo will turnish when she lets him go
I'd like to warn him but I just lose a friend
For he thinks she's an angel but I knew her when

Yes I knew her when she was mine...

SOCIAL OBLIGATIONS

(Nat Stuckey) « © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI / Su-Ma Publishing, BMI »
We started out so poor but we were happy
Then fortune smiled upon us for a while
We bought a great estate out in the country
Complete with obligations social style

From that time on a wall was thrown between us
While moving from our old ways to the new
And you did things you never would have thought of
Cause they were socially accepted things to do
[ steel ] I'll swear at times I couldn't recognize you
Among the crowd of diamonds dye and mink
But then I didn't see you very often
Because of social obligations I think

In fact I see you now more than I used to
I read the local papers everyday
But things that they won't print I hear about you
But they're your social obligations you'd say
And you've got social obligations everyday

I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU

(Don Gibson) « © '58 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
I can't stop loving you so I've made up my mind
To live in memories of old lonesome times
I can't stop wanting you it's useless to say
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday

Those happy hours that we once knew
So long ago they still make me blue
But I know that time heals a broken heart
But time stood still since we're apart
[ piano - steel ] Those happy hours that we once knew...
I can't stop loving you

THERE'S A LOT MORE

(Nat Stuckey) « © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI / Su-Ma Publishing, BMI »
I gues you've thought you were smart
By stealing her heart when my back was turned
There's a lot I could have told you
But I'll bet you never took the time to learn
And now you're looking like a man who knows what it is to be lonesome
Well there's a lot more yes a lot more where that came from

And I'll bet you she lied and told you that I've been untrue to her
That I left her all alone just to be with the wine in women world
And now you say that you think
She's somewhere having a drink and calling you the bum
Well there's a lot more yes a lot more where that came from

You see we've got a lot in common cause we both believed the same old lie
And I'll bet before it's over your heart will be hurtin' as much as mine

Well her lips were warm and sweet and tender to you as they were to me
And her arms make you feel that her love was real and would always be
Well you look like you've heard that joke and all we'll all come
Well there's a lot more yes a lot more where that came from
Yes there's a lot more there's so much more where that came from
