Wynn Stewart is, of course, one of the most talented and popular of Country and Western singers. A native of Missouri, Wynn was a discovery of Skeets MacDonald and he has consistently payed tribute to MacDonald's confidence and sharp eye by his overwhelming successful appearances with the Grand Ole Opry and other nationally famous C&W programs and shows. Wynn's recordings have been no less successful than his live appearances and two of his greatest hits, Big Big Love and Wishful Thinking are included in this album. Also featured is another of Wynne's own compositions, School Bus Love Affair.

ONE MORE MEMORY
(Bobby George - Vern Stovall)
« © '61 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
Hello darling I'm just passin' through this way
Thought I'd call you up I haven't long to stay
Could you meet me in our same old meetin' place
I promise you that I won't speak of yesterday
Just give me one more memory that's all I ask of you
To see you once again would mean a lot to me
We'll pretend I'm just a friend that you once knew
Please be there and give me one more memory
[ steel ]
I respect the choice you made so long ago
If you're happy now that's all I need to know
I'm not here to cause you any misery
But if I could see you I'd have one more memory
Just give me one more memory...

WALL TO WALL HEARTACHES
(Eddie Miller)
« © '61 Roschelle Publishing, BMI »
In this day and time love don't last too long
And I lost you the day that he came along
I guess that he loves you but I love you too
And I've got wall to wall heartaches thanks to you
I've got wall to wall heartaches in this room that's missin' you
And ev'ry thing in it is cryin' for you too
While you're out there happy I walk these floors over you
And I've got wall to wall heartaches thanks to you
[ steel - fiddle ]
Even when you did me wrong I loved you all the while
It seems true love's old fashion and it's going out of style
You promised me happiness what you say you never do
And I've got wall to wall heartaches thanks to you
I've got wall to wall heartaches...

PLAYBOY
(Eddie Miller - Bob Morris)
« © '60 Jat Music, BMI »
They call me a playboy as I'm makin' my rounds
Chasin' the bright lights of each nightspot in town
Though I never show it my heart's breaking in two
They may call me a playboy but I'm just lonesome for you
I once had a real love that was when I had you
Now I'll never feel love with somebody new
This clothes that I'm wearing it's just to cover my blues
They may call me a playboy but I'm just lonesome for you
[ fiddle - steel ]
I once had a real love...

HEARTACHES FOR A DIME
(Harlan Howard)
« © '60 Tree Publishing, BMI »
I called you on the phone to say I love you
And that I'd stop by for you at nine
And my heart broke when you said it's all over
That someone else would take up all your time
And that's an awful lot of heartaches for a dime
I'll never know what made you change your mind
I only know I've held you close and kissed you my last time
And that's a lot of heartaches for a dime
[ fiddle - steel ]
I went downtown and joined the merry makers
And told myself that here's where I belong
I thought that I could get along without you
Until I heard somebody play our song
And that's an awful lot of heartaches...

SEARCHING FOR ANOTHER YOU
(Wynn Stewart - L. Ross)
« © '60 Owen Publications, BMI »
I have searched a sea of faces but not one of them replaces
That old feeling everytime I looked at you
Oh how well I can remember your love so sweet and tender
And that's why I'm searching for another you
But no one seems to ease this longing there's no feeling of belonging
Oh how lonely is this heart you've broke in two
I only live for your returning with each tear that falls I'm learning
That I'll never ever find another you
[ fiddle - steel ]
No one seems to ease this longing...

WISHFUL THINKING
(Wynn Stewart)
« © '59 Jat Music, BMI »
Wishin' I could see you again dear
That the fire of love would burn once more
But I guess that's wishful thinkin'
And too much to be wishing for
Just thinking how you once kissed me
Wishing that it hadn't meant goodbye
But I guess that's wishful thinking
Now I know why some people cry
I'll just live my life in dreams and long for your love
It's you I'm wishin' for and it's you I'm thinkin' of
My heart echoes the love words you spoken
How I wish I could hear them from you
Won't you answer a heart that is broken
And to make my wishful thinking come true
[ fiddle - steel ]
My heart echoes the love words...

ABOVE AND BEYOND (THE CALL OF LOVE)
(Harlan Howard)
« © '59 Tree Publishing, BMI / Jat Music, BMI »
A poor boy's chances for a pretty girl's glances're sometimes very few
Though I have no money if you'll be my honey here's what I'll offer you
Well I'll give you love that's above and beyond the call of love
And I'll never ever make you cry
Well I'll give you love that's above and beyond the call of love
And love's somethin' money can't buy
[ guitar ]
We met by chance and I knew at a glance I'd found my destiny
Now I wanna carry you off and marry you if you'll just agree
And I'll give you love...
Yes love's something that money can't buy
Oh love's something that money can't buy

OPEN UP YOUR HEART
(Lance Guyness)
« © '59 Owen Publications, BMI »
You are the key to my happiness lock out the loneliness
Bring back the joyfulness open up my heart
Show me true love again love me like you did when
Our hearts were young and then you'll open up my heart
I've been so lost without you that I locked up my heart
But I can't forget about you though we're apart
Just show your love for me how happy we could be
You know you have the key that opens up my heart
[ steel - fiddle ]
You are the key to my happiness...
I've been so lost without you...

SCHOOL BUS LOVE AFFAIR
(Wynn Stewart)
« © '58 Jat Music, BMI »
Every school day morning I can hardly wait
To meet my baby along by eight
She's waitin' on the school bus school bus affair
I'm first in line to get on the bus
She's got the seats hey just for us
And that's where we start our school bus affair
Now when the school bell rings we walk through the door
That's one thing that makes me sore
Cause I don't see my baby no more
It's almost quarter to four
Oh the school bus school bus takin' us home
I'm so happy though we're not alone
I'm satisfied with a school bus love affair
[ guitar ]
I wanna do more than hold her hand
Cause she says I gotta understand
It ain't right to kiss in a crowd
And making love just ain't around
Oh the school bus school bus takin' us home...

I'D RATHER HAVE AMERICA
(Penny Jay)
« © '60 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
From the icy cliffs of Iceland I've traveled o'er the land
Through the darkness of Greenland to the islands of Japan
I've met with many people all kinds of them you see
But I'd druther have America my homeland where I'm free
I've seen the hot Pacific the ocean wide and deep
I've been in ol' Korea with its mud up to my knees
I've walked the streets of China seen all there is to see
But I'd druther have America my homeland where I'm free
I've sailed the wide Atlantic to France and Germany
The beauty there in Paris doesn't do a thing for me
I made my way to England and on to Italy
Cause I'd druther have America my homeland where I'm free
Let Iceland have its icy cliffs and forty-five below
Let Greenland keep its darkness and the freezin' winds that blow
Don't put me off in China or Korea's muddy land
Let Paris keep her beauty and the islands have Japan
I don't want Germany or France or Italy
I'd druther have America my homeland where I'm free
I'd druther have America my homeland where I'm free

THREE CHEERS FOR THE LOSER
(Carl Belew)
« © '61 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
Now gather around me blues I'd like to make a toast
Let's all extend three cheers to a guy that's lost the most
I don't want your pity or your sympathy
Just three cheers for the loser that's me
Well I set out to win her knowin' I might lose
I didn't think I'd end up talkin' to the blues
The only thing I didn't lose is her haunting memory
Three cheers for the loser that's me
[ steel ]
Now blues I stand before you and I'm still hurtin' yet
The things I've been through you know I won't forget
But still I took it like a man you know I set her free
Three cheers for the loser that's me
Well I set out to win her...
