THIS MUST BE THE BOTTOM
(Del Reeves - Elen Reeves)
« © '65 Johnny Bienstock Music, BMI »
Doodle do do doo a doodle do do doo
A doodle do do doo doodle doodle do do doo
Well I lost my job ain't got a dime
I need a shaver I need a shine
I'm all hangover got a mouth full of cotton
Guess I've arrived this must be the bottom
If this is a bottom well okay I figured out make it someday
I had high hopes but she sure shot 'em
I guess I've arrived this must be the bottom
A doodle do do doo...
I gotta be a member of skid row
Well I smoke old butts and I beg my dough
If you need any troubles well boys I've got 'em
Guess I've arrived this must be the bottom
If this is a bottom well okay...
(A doodle do do doo oh this must be a bottom the only way I see there
An early dawn looks squaerly down here
I beg for a dime for a cup of coffee would you believe of what you see
Oh I hear the Salvation Army band comin' and they're comin' after me
Oh me it's my turn uh)

AT THE SIGHT OF YOU
(Johnny Darrell - Dave Pittman - Jim Johnson)
« © '67 Sawgrass Music, BMI »
I go all to pieces at the sight of of you
I tried to look the other way when you're around
But that takes more strenght than can be found
I just get weak as memories pass through
I go all to pieces at the sight of of you
How could anyone control me so completely
And make me do the crazy things I do
Little things like forgiving you for being so untrue
I go all to pieces at the sight of of you
[ piano ]
You've hurt me so many times that I've lost track
Yet given half a chance I take you back
You're the master of my life and there's nothing I can do
I go all to pieces at the sight of of you
I go all to pieces at the sight of of you

BOTTLE LET ME DOWN
(Merle Haggard)
« © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Each night I leave the barroom when it's over
Not feeling any pain at closin' time
But tonight your mem'ry found me much too sober
Couldn't drink enough to keep you off my mind
Tonight the bottle let me down and let your mem'ry come around
The one true friend I thought I'd found tonight the bottle let me down
[ steel - guitar ]
I've always had a bottle I could turn to
And lately I've been turning every day
But the wine don't take effect the way it used to
And I'm hurtin' in an old familiar way
Tonight the bottle let me down...
Tonight the bottle let me down

THERE GOES MY EVERYTHING
(Dallas Frazier)
« © '65 Husky Music, BMI / Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
There goes my only possesion there goes my everything
I hear footsteps slowly walking as they gently walk across a lonely floor
And a voice is softly saying darling this will be goodbye forever more
There goes my reason for living there goes the one of my dreams
There goes my only possesion there goes my everything
As my mem'ries turn back the pages
I can see the happy years we had before
Now the love that kept this old heart beating
Has been shattered by the closing of a door
There goes my reason for living...

WALKING ON NEW GRASS
(Ray Pennington)
« © '66 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Doodle doodle doodle do do doo
I'm like a cloud driftin' from town to town
Each new love just helps me on my way
No one woman's ever gonna tie me down
When one gets too close I just back up and say
Well I gotta be walkin' on new grass singin' a new song
Tomorrow there's no tellin' where I'll be
But I'll be walkin' on new grass singin' a new song
The next time up the road keeps callin' me
I'm warnin' you don't fall in love with me
I don't plan on being here too long
You're just a leaf caught in a playfull breeze
I'll carry you a while then I'll be movin' on
Yeah I'll be walkin' on new grass...
Doodle doodle doodle do do doo
I won't take roots I never stay that long
And a bad seed just won't grow anyway
This rolling stone don't want to gather no moss
So when the grass starts to grow then I'll be on my way
Then I'll be walkin' on new grass...
Doodle doodle doodle do do doo

I DON'T HAVE SENSE ENOUGH (TO COME IN OUT OF THE PAIN)
(Billy J. Smith)
« © '67 Glad Music, BMI / Pappy Daily Music, BMI »
She's gone again but she'll be home tomorrow
And looks like I could burn and save myself some sorrow
A fooling love sometimes just can change
And I don't have sense enough to come in out of the pain
Each time she leaves I tell myself we're through
That I'll start missing pain the way I always do
I guess that I will always be the same
Cause I don't have sense enough to come in out of the pain
How foolish of me to try and live this way
Knowing why she's here with me I'm taking someone's place
I've cried so much then I will cry in shame
And I don't have sense enough to come in out of the pain
No I don't have sense enough to come in out of the pain

LISTEN TO MY SONG
(Dick Miles)
« © '67 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Alright gang I've wrote this smash hit ha ha ha it's not so funny
Let's all sing together it's got to be pretty let's go
Listen to my song well listen to my song
(Tell me if you'd like it play I'll change it if it's wrong
Listen to my music Goerge see if it's alright
If it's not what you've had in mind I'll write you one tonight)
Well I wrote a little song a few moths ago
My friends all said that thing oughta go
So I packed my bags and I hit for Nashville town
Well I wanted to get me a big star to do it
So I made me a list with a few names through it
And I started out to see if Eddy Arnold was in town
Well I come in a home way back in the den
I can tell he was glad when I walked in
Cause he broken the singin' Make The World Go Away
He finally listen the part of my song
And then with a drawl of two two miles long
He said see Ernest Tubb ha ha he lives just across the way
Listen to my song...
Well I'd see ol' Ern he was Walking The Floor
Cause just as records were sellin' lower
But he put me on a take and listened to every word
He said I've been singin' since I was a kid
And nothin' sounds like that song did
Ah throw him out Billy Byrd
Well I quit myself got back on my feet
I saw Johnny Cash up in down the street
And I asked him if he can use a hit or two
He said I made mon on a Ring Of Fire
Size Luther king playin' on his guitar
So I don't care of the doo-di-dood-di
I called Bill Anderson and he was at home
But he said my Mama Sang A Song
I'm sorry but I hope that you understand
I saw Ralph Emery and I talked to him
Along ol' Tex Ritter and WSM
But they was too busy shakin' one another's hands
Folly I decided that the only way
A stranger in Nashville can make a little hay
Is just to turn a record himself with that Nashville sound
So I borrowed me some money and that's what I did
Everybody tells me I've got a hit
At least it's bubblin' under about one hundred ha ha
And follows Alabama at the bus station
Listen to my song...

I'LL GO GET THE TOOL BOX
(Gene Crysler)
« © '67 Southtown Music, BMI »
I sat there with my teardrops showing just the way I felt
Looking at my emptiness the one I love had left
My little boy said daddy mommie's left us all alone
I'll go get the tool box you can fix our broken home
You can fix our broken home daddy I just know you can
I saw you fix my wagon now the wheels are tight again
Things will turn out alright daddy don't cry cause mommie's gone
I'll go get the tool box you can fix our broken home
You should have heard my tiny boy more courage in this man
Courage to repair our shattered world now right again
Thanks to him I found her these words pushed me along
I'll go get the tool box you can fix our broken home
You can fix our broken home...

MOTEL TIME AGAIN
(Bobby Bare)
« © '67 Central Songs, BMI »
Oh I sat here on this stool drank so much I blew my cool
And now they're closing up a world I'm living in
So I guess it's time to go or at least they told me so
Yes I'm going home it's motel time again
Motel time again yes I take myself to bed
I don't even know what town I'm in
Yes I'll find my way once more to that old number on the door
Then I'll be at home it's motel time again
[ guitar ]
Motel time again yes I take myself to bed...
Yes I'll be at home it's motel time again

HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN
(Jim Throckmorton - Eddie Snyder)
« © '66 Southtown Music, BMI »
Saw you there on the barstool as I walked in
And the look we gave each other said we both need a friend
Is this the first time you've come here all the nights you've been alone
Searching for something that just isn't at home
How long has it been when's the last time he kissed you
My you sure look lovely in that dress so tight and thin
There's a look in your eye that cries somebody love me
And I wonder how long has it been
I sat down at your table we shared a drink or two
All the things that first look told me now I find are really true
Someone's neglect has left an emptiness where love used to be
Then you reached out and touched my hand softly whispered to me
How long has it been when's the last time she held you
And made you feel wanted and needed and loved
There's a look in your eye that cries somebody love me
And I wonder how long has it been
