Now I don't think that you folks have had the pleasure this evening of meeting my orchestra and chorus
He's everything kinda rolled into one

« © '65 Bexhill Music, ASCAP »
[ with Mike Post ]
Well we got married in a fever a hotter than a pepper sprout
We've been talkin' bout Jackson ever since the fire went out
I'm goin' to Jackson I'm gonna mess around
Yeah I'm goin' to Jackson look out Jackson town
Well go on down to Jackson go ahead and wreck your health
Go play your hand you big talkin' man make a big fool of yourself
Yeah go to Jackson and go comb black hair please
I'm gonna snowball Jackson ha see if I care
When I breeze into that city people gonna stoop and bow
All them women gonna make me teach 'em what they don't know now
I'm goin' to Jackson you turn loose my coat
Yeah I'm goin' to Jackson goodbye that's all she wrote
When they laugh at you in Jackson and I'll be dancin' on the pony keg
Hey I'll lead you round town like a scalded hound
With your tail tucked between your legs
Yeah go to Jackson you big talkin' man
Cause I'll be waitin' in Jackson behind the Japan fan
Well we got married in a fever a hotter than a pepper sprout
We've been talkin' bout Jackson ever since the fire went out
We're goin' to Jackson and that's a natural fact
Yeah we're goin' to Jackson ain't never coming back
Ain't never coming back ain't never coming back
**********
Thank you Mike thank you folks
I am gonna slow down the tempo
This time do a song that is one of the most requested of all the songs
We've done in the past years and it makes me very proud
It's a song that I wrote back a few years ago
And we hope that you folks this evenin' might remember this one

RIGHT OR WRONG (I'LL BE WITH YOU)
(Wanda Jackson)
« © '60 Combine Music, BMI »
Right or wrong I'll be with you I'll do what you ask me to
For I believe that I belong by your side right or wrong
Right or wrong it's gotta be always you always me
Won't you take me along to be with you right or wrong
If it's right for me to love you it can't be wrong for me to care
If you will say you love me my life with you I'll share
Right or wrong day by day oh my love all the way
For I believe that I belong by your side right or wrong
If it's right for me to love you...
**********
Thank you so very much
I'm glad that you folks remember some of those older tunes like that
Now here's a song I'd like to do for you that's been very popular the last few months
There's been a lot of recordings on this song
But they've kind of change the words as they went along
They kind a dressed it up and put different lyrics to it
And I don't know I kinda liked the original way that Mr Eddy Miller wrote this one
And we hope that you will enjoy hearing the original once again
One of my very favorite songs of all times
Also one of Wendel's favorites I believe
We'd like to try
4.

GIRL DON'T HAVE TO DRINK TO HAVE FUN
(Charlie Williams - Joe Nixon)
« © '67 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Well I know what you're doing and I'll save you the trouble
I saw you wink for the waiter to slip me a double
If you want some barroom swinger I'm not the one
Cause I don't think a girl's gotta drink to have fun
Mama said when I went out in the world
Drinking ain't the thing for a sweet young girl
I didn't listen then but now I'm here to shout
That my dear old mama knew what she was talkin' about
So if you want another round just order one
Cause I don't think a girl's gotta drink to have fun
[ guitar ]
Mama said when I went out in the world...
No I don't think a girl's gotta drink to have fun
**********
Oh you're wonderful you're wonderful thank you so very much

TEARS WILL BE THE CHASER FOR YOUR WINE
(Leroy Coates - Dale Davis)
« © '67 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Tears will be the chaser for your wine
You sit there and tell me how you'd like to be free
You're tired of bein' tied down to a home and family
You say you miss the bright lights along the great white way
Little do you realize the price you'll have to pay
And tears will be the chaser for your wine
After you leave this love of mine
Bright lights and taverns that's where you'll spend your time
And tears will be the chaser for your wine
[ steel ]
Before you make up your mind you really want to go
Stop and think it over there's something you don't know
When the part is over then what will you do
When you wanna come back there'll be no place for you
And tears will be the chaser for your wine...
And tears will be the chaser for your wine

LITTLE BITTY TEAR
(Hank Cochran)
« © '60 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Oh when you said you were leaving tomorrow that today was our last date
I said there'd be no sorrow that I'd laugh when you walked away
Well a little bitty tear let me down spoiled my act as a clown
I had it made up not to make a frown but a little bitty tear let me down
I said I'd laugh when you left me full of funny as you walked out the door
That I'd have another one a waitin' I'd wave goodbye as you go
Well a little bitty tear let me down...
[ guitar ]
Everything went like I planned it I really put on quite a show
I thought that I was gonna stand it but when you got to the door
Well a little bitty tear let me down...
A little bitty tear let me down
**********
Oh thank you thank you I mean that

I'VE GOT A TIGER BY THE TAIL
(Harlan Howard - Buck Owens)
« © '64 Tree Publishing, BMI »
[ with Mike Post ]
I've got a tiger by the tail it's plain to see
I won't be much when you get through with me
Well I'm losin' weight and turnin' mighty pale
And it looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
Well I thought the day I met you you were meek as a lamb
Just the kind to fit my dreams and plans
But now the pace we're livin' takes the wind from my sails
And it looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
I've got a tiger by the tail it's plain to see...
Well every night he drags me where the bright lights are found
And there ain't no way for him to settle down
Why I'm about as helpless as the leaf in a gale
Looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
I've got a tiger by the tail it's plain to see...
And it looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
One more time
It looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
**********
Thank you thank you so much
Who was that whistlin' very good
Okay lotta of good whistlers tonight

IF I HAD A HAMMER
(Lee Hayes - Pete Seeger)
« © '62 Ludlow Music, BMI »
If I had a hammer I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening all over this land
I'd hammer out danger I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters
Oh oh all over this land
If I had a bell I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening all over this land
I'd ring out danger I'd ring out a warning
I'd ring out love between my brothers and my sisters
Oh oh all over this land
If I had a song I'd sing it in the morning
I'd sing it in the evening all over this land
I'd sing out danger I'd sing out a warning
I'd sing out love between my brothers and my sisters
Oh oh all over this land
Well I've got a hammer and I've got a bell
And I've got a song to sing all over this land
It's a hammer of justice it's a bell of freedom
It's a gonna be about love between my brothers and my sisters
Oh oh all over this land
Well I've got a hammer and I've got a bell...

SILVER THREADS AND GOLDEN NEEDLES
(Jack Rhodes - Dick Reynolds)
« © '56 Central Songs, BMI »
I don't want your lonely mansion with a tear in every room
I just want the love you promised beneath the halo'd moon
But you think I should be happy with your money and your name
And pretend that I don't notice while you play your cheatin' games
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
And I never drown my sorrow in the warm glow of your wine
You can't buy my love with money for I never was that kind
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine yeah
[ guitar ]
I grew up in in faded keno where love is a sacred thing
You grew up in see look inside where love is a passin' game
I know now you never loved me and I know I was the fool
To think your cry would let you if I was golden rule
Silver threads and golden needles...
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
**********

D-I-V-O-R-C-E
(Bobby Braddock - Curly Putman)
« © '68 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Our little boy is four years old and quite a little man
So we spell out the words we don't want him to understand
Like T-O-Y or maybe S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E
The words we're hiding from him now tear the heart right out of me
Our D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes final today
Me and little J-O-E will be going away
I love you both and this will be pure H-E double L for me
I wish that we could stop this D-I-V-O-R-C-E
Watch him smile he thinks it's Christmas or his fifth birthday
Cause he thinks C-U-S-T-O-D-Y spells fun or play
I spell out all the hurting words and turn my head when I speak
But I can't spell away this hurt that's dripping down my cheeks
Our D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes final today...
I wish that we could stop this D-I-V-O-R-C-E
**********
Thank you so much thank you
Boy those kind a songs kinda get you shook up don't they
Put a tear in your eye or something
You know I think it would only be proper for us to take just a moment
To introduce all of you nice people to all of these nice fellows
Who are helping us out on our album this evening
They've come in from all over the United States
To help us record it and we appreciate it so very much
First of all all the gentlemen that came in from Nashville Tennessee
You've heard them on numerous recordings because they record a lot of hit songs every day
And we can't go through all of their lists because they have too many
But it's a real honor for me to have them on our session this evening
So would you please make welcome from Nashville Tennessee
On the electric guitar Mr Fred Carter
Willie Ackerman on the drums
And Bill Linneman on the electric bass so nice to have you gentlemen
And while you're applauding keep it up all the way from Hollywood California
A nice warm welcome for our piano player Mr Earl Ball
And of course the other gentlemen you know them because they're from right here at Mr Lucky's
And you see them all the time it's a very big pleasure to be working with them
Give them a nice warm welcome
On the steel guitar Mr Stan Ackinson
And Mr Bill Williams on the rhythm guitar
Thank you gentlemen alrighty
Here's a song I really enjoy singing
I like the song and I just want to do it for you folks this evening and see if you like it And if you feel the same as I do

(Johnny Nash)
« © '68 Nashco Music, ASCAP »
I don't want to hear it no more fussin' and a fightin' baby hold me tight

I know I was wrong I was just a fool too blind to see you were the only one for me
But now I see the light and everything's gonna be alright baby hold me tight

GAMES PEOPLE PLAY
(Joe South)
« © '68 ATV Songs, BMI »
[ with Mike Post ]
Well the games people now every night and every day now
Never meanin' what they say now never sayin' what they mean
Oh they wile away the hours in their ivory towers
Till they're covered up with flowers in the back of a black limousine
Lotten da la da da da lotten da la a dee de dee
Talkin' bout you and me and the games people play
Well we make one another cry break a heart then we say goodbye
Cross our hearts and we hope to die that the other one's to blame
But neither one will ever give in so we gaze at an eight by ten
Thinkin' bout the things that might have been it's a dirty rotten shame
People walkin' up to ya a singing glory hallelujah
And they're tryin' to sock it to ya in the name of the Lord
They're gonna teach you how to meditate read your horoscope and cheat your fate
And furthermore to hell with hate come on and get on board
Lotten da la da da da...
Look around and tell me what you see what's happened to you and me
God grand me the serenity to just remember who I am
So you've given up your sanity for your pride and your vanity
Turn your back on humanity till you don't give a lot
Lotten da la da da da...
A talkin' bout you and me and the games people play
**********
Thank you
Well I don't know about you folks but I really like that song
Once again could I impose on your folks to do me a favor
A nice round of applause for all of our boys who have come in from Nashville
From Hollywood and of course your own Mr Lucky boys

And for Mike Post for all of his help

IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEARTACHE
(Wanda Jackson - Pat Franzese - Laurie Christenson)
« © '60 Central Songs, BMI »
I'm in the middle of a heartache half out half in
Not quite out of love with you not too much in love with him
I'm in the middle of a heartache half way half blue
Can't give all my love to him when I'm still in love with you
Just when I think that I've forgotten you the mem'ry of your love grows dim
That old pain starts again off wanting you more than I ever wanted him
I'm in the middle of a haertache heart old heart new
Can't give all my love to him when I'm still in love with you
**********

WINE TAKE ME AWAY
(Tommy Collins - Merle Haggard)
« © '67 Tree Publishing, BMI »
Warm red wine you know that place where you take me some times
Where my caress have wings and fly right off my shoulder
Where I leave my cares behind and for a while find peace of mind
Help me friend of mine wine take me away
Wine take me away where I can lose myself
Take me where I won't even see a light of day
Cause it's my life and I wanna live it it's my will and I wanna give it
Help me friend of mine wine take me away
When my life becomes a grind and I'm weary and tired
Then I'll tell myself I need a short vacation
I gotta leave this lonesome town and you're the quickest way I found
Help me friend of mine wine take me away
Wine take me away where I can lose myself...
Help me friend of mine wine take me away

THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND
(Woody Guthrie)
« © '40 Ludlow Music, BMI »
Well this land is your land this land is mine land
From California to New York Island
From redwood forrest to the gulf stream waters
This land belongs to you and me
As I was walking that ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land belongs to you and me
Yeah this land is your land this land is mine land...
As I roamed and rambled I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond desert
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land is for you and me
Yeah this land is your land this land is mine land...
This land is your land this land is mine land...
One more time
This land is your land this land is mine land...
Well this land is for you and me
**********
Oh thank you so much for being so nice to us
Some of ya'll have asked for this song right here do we have any cowboys in the house
Okay let's do a song for the cowboys
19.
COWBOY YODEL
(Carson J. Robison)
« © '69 MCA Music, ASCAP »
There's a cowboy that I know ridin' in the rodeo
He's a feller that I'm fondest of
I love him and he loves me and that's the way it ought to be
But he drives me crazy when we're makin' love
Cause he always starts to yodel (yodel)
Well he always squeezed me at night while the moon was shinin' bright
And I knew I was under his spell
He was gazin' in my eyes and I was breathing pretty sighs
Then like Tarzan he'd let out a great big yell And he started into yodel (yodel)
Well when he led me down the isle I wore such a pretty smile
And my handsome cowboy wore a buckskin suit
When the parson said will you promise always to be true
My lover smiled and gently cleared his throat and he started to yodel (yodel)

Thank you so very much
A big hand for Wanda Jackson
