MAC NAMARA'S BAND
(Shamus O' Connor - J. J. Stamford - Dwight Latham)
« © '61 Jerry Vogel Music, ASCAP / G Schirmer Music, ASCAP »

Oh me name is Mac Namara I'm the leader of the band
Although we're few in numbers we're the finest in the land
We played wakes and weddings and at every fancy ball
And when we play to funerals we play the march from Saul

Oh the drums go bang and the crystals clang and the horns they blaze away
Mac Carthy pumps the old bassoon while the pipes do play
And Hennessey Tennessee tootles the flute and the music is something grand
A credit to old Ireland is Mac Namara's band

Oh I wear a bunch of shamrocks ad a uniform of green
I'm the funniest looking Swede that you have ever seen
There's O'Briens and Ryans and Meehans and Sheehans they come from Ireland
Hey by Yimminy I'm the only Swede in Mac Namara's band

Oh the drums go bang and the crystals clang...

And the brow that's all furrowed and wrinkled with care

My wild Irish Rose the sweetest flower that grows
You may search everywhere but none can compare

My wild Irish Rose the dearest flower that grows
And someday for my sake she may let me take
The bloom from my wild Irish Rose

And someday for my sake she may let me take

DEAR OLD DONEGAL
(Michael Goldsen)
« © '42 MCA Music, ASCAP »

It seems like only yesterday I sailed from Gounty Cork
A wanderer from Erin's Isle I landed in New York
There wasn't a soul to greet me there a stranger on your shore
But Irish luck was with me here and riches came galore

And now that I'm going back again to dear old Erin's Isle
My grandpa will meet me on the pier and greet me with a smile
Their faces sure I've almost forgot I've been so long away
But me mother will introduce them all and this to me will say

Shake hands with your Uncle Mike my girl and here is your sister Kate
And there's the girl you used to swing down by the garden gate
Shake hands with all of the neighbours and kiss the colleens all
You're as welcome as the flowers in May to dear old Donnegal

Meet Branigan Fannigan Milligan Gilligan Duffy McCuffy Malachy Mahone

DID YOUR MOTHER COME FROM IRELAND
(Michael Carr - Jimmy Kennedy)
« © '40 Chappell & Co, ASCAP / Colgems Music, ASCAP »

Did your mother come from Ireland cause there's something in you Irish
Will you tell me where you get those Irish eyes
And before she left Killarney did your mother kiss the Blarney
Cause your little touch of brogue you can't disguise

Oh I wouldn't be romancin' I can almost see you dancin'
While the Kerry pipers play
Sure and maybe we'll be sharin' in the shamrock you'll be wearin'
On the next St Patrick's Day
Did your mother come from Ireland cause there's something in you Irish
And that bit of Irish steals my heart away
[ pipe ]
And that bit of Irish steals my heart away

DANNY BOY
(Fred Weatherly)
« © '53 Boosey & Hawkes Music, ASCAP »

Oh Danny Boy the pipes the pipes are calling
From glen to glen and down the mountain side
The summer's gone and all the roses falling
It's you it's you must go and I must bide

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valleys hushed and white with snow
Yes I'll be here in sunshine or in shadows
Oh Danny Boy oh Danny Boy I love you so

Yes come ye back when summer's in the meadow...

IT'S A GREAT DAY FOR THE IRISH
(Roger Edens)
« © '38 Feist Catalog, ASCAP »

It's a Great Day for the Irish it's a great day for the fair
The sidewalks of New York are thick with blarney
For sure you'd think of New York was ol' Killarney

It's a great day for the shamrock for the flags in full array
We're feeling so inspirish sure because for all the Irish
It's a great great day

It's a great day for the shamrock for the flags in full array
And as we go to swingin' every Irish heart is singin'
It's a great great day

TOO-RA-LOO-RA-LOO-RAL (THAT'S AN IRISH LULLABY)
(James R. Shannon)
« © '61 WB Music, ASCAP »

Over in Kelarny many years ago
My mother sang a song to me in tone so sweet and low
Just a simple little bitty in her good old Irish way
And I'd give the world if she could sing that song to me this day

Too ra loo ra loo too ra loo ra lui
Too ra loo ra loo hush now don't you cry
Too ra loo ra loo too ra loo ra lui
Too ra loo ra loo ral that's an Irish lullaby

HOW CAN YOU BUY KILLARNEY
(Gerald Morrison - Joeseph Kennedy - Ted Steels)
« © '61 Colgems Music, ASCAP / MCA Music, ASCAP »

An American landed on Erin's green isle
He gazed on killarny with a rapturous smile
How can I buy it he said to the guy
I'll tell you how with a smile he replied

How can you buy all the stars in the sky
How can you buy two blue Irish eyes
When you can purchase a fine mother's heart
How you can buy killarny

Nature restore of her kiss with a smile
Me and Rose the shamrock and the barley
When you can buy all those wonderful things
Then you can buy killarny

HOW ARE THINGS IN GLOCCA MORRA
(E.Y. Harburg - Burton Lane)
« © '61 Chappell & Co, ASCAP / Glocca Morra Music, ASCAP »

I hear a bird a Londonderry bird
It well may be he's bringing me a cheering word
I hear a breeze a River Shannon breeze
It well may be it's followed me across the sea
Then tell me please

How are things in Glocca Morra is that little brook still leaping there
Does it still run down to Donny cove through Killy begs Kilkerry and Kildare

How are things in Glocca Morra is that willow tree still weeping there
Does that laddie with the twinkling eye come whistling by
And does he walk away sad and dreamy there not to see me there

So I ask each weeping willow and each brook along the way
And each lad that comes a whistling too ra lay
How are things in Glocca Morra this fine day

WHEN IRISH EYES ARE SMILING
(Chauncey Olcott - Ernest R. Ball - George Graff)
« © '61 Anne Rachel Music, ASCAP / Quartet Music, ASCAP /
Range Road Music, ASCAP / WB Music, ASCAP »

There's a tear in your eye and I'm wondering why
For it never should be there at all
With such power in your smile sure a stone you'd beguile
So there's never a teardrop should fall

When Irish eyes are smiling sure it's like the morn in spring
In the lilt of Irish laughter you can hear the angels sing
When Irish hearts are happy all the world seems bright and gay
And when Irish eyes are smiling sure they steal your heart away

(When Irish hearts are happy all the world seems bright and gay)
And when Irish eyes are smiling sure they steal your heart away

LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN
(Keirn J. Brennan - Ernest R. Ball)
« © '61 Anne Rachel Music, ASCAP / WB Music, ASCAP »

Have you ever heard the story of the Ireland God has made
I'll tell you so you'll understand
No wonder that we're proud of dear land across the sea
For here's the way my dear old mother told the tale to me

Sure a little bit of heaven fell from out of the sky one day
And it nestled on the ocean in a spot so far away
And the angels found it sure it looked so sweet and fair
They said suppose we leave it for it looks so peaceful there

So they sprinkled it with stardust just to make the shamrocks grow
Tis the only place you'll find them no matter where you go
Then they dotted it with silver to make its lakes so grand
And when they had it finished sure they called it Ireland
