LOVE IS WHAT LIFE'S ALL ABOUT
(Carl Belew - Van Givens - Moe Bandy)
« © '78 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
(Love is what life's all about)
I've climbed the mountain and looked down on valleys below
I've been everywhere and I've tried everything
So I think that I ought to know
I've sampled the bitter and tasted the sweet
I've turned this ole world inside out
And when it comes down to the bottom line boys
Love is what life's all about
Love is what life's all about
Just thinking of holding my woman and loving her
Makes my ol' heart wanna shout
Money's a good thing to have in your pocket no doubt
But all a man's money can't buy a good woman
Love is what life's all about
[ fiddle ]
I've placed my feet between soft satin sheets all alone
You can believe that I'd rather sleep in a haystack with a love of my own
I've been cold and hungry I've been without booze the one thing I'm never without
Is someone to hold me someone to care cause love is what life's all about
Love is what life's all about...
But all a man's money can't buy a good woman love is what life's all about

GHOST OF A CHANCE
(Steve Collom)
« © '78 Milene Music, ASCAP »
In the back of my mind you're calling my name
I just can't believe that your feelings have changed
Without you I know my future is past
So I keep holding on to a ghost of a chance
In all my dreams you're all I can see
So I keep believing you'll come back to me
My dreams and your memories are all that I have
So I'm still holding on to a ghost of a chance
You said goodbye that our love was wrong
I'll go on hoping till all hope is gone
My dreams and your memories are all that I have
So I'm still holding on to a ghost of a chance
[ steel ]
My dreams in your memories...

I GUESS I HAD A REAL GOOD TIME LAST NIGHT
(Carl Belew - Van Givens)
« © '78 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
I woke up this morning feeling like I never felt before
My head aches my eyes are red and I hurt places I ain't hurt before
Though I don't remember I really don't believe I had a fight
But I've got all the symptoms so I guess I had a real good time last night
When I opened my eyes I can't believe the first thing that I see
A woman who's a stranger layin' there and starin' back at me
She said hello honey then she asked me if I'm gonna be alright
It's then I knew without a doubt I had myself a real good time last night
I don't know how or where I went and I should don't remember what I done
But by the way she's smilin' now I really must have had a lot of fun
If I can just recall her name I'm almost sure that things will be alright
I'm telling you it must be true I had myself a real good time last night
[ guitar ]
It must've been just after ten when she finally got me out of bed
I had a small construction crew working with a chainsaw in my head
Then I saw on my left hand a wedding band shining in the light
It was then I realized I had myself a real good time last night
It was then I realized I had myself a real good time last night

BIC FLICKING BABY
(Carl Belew - Van Givens - Ramsey Kearney)
« © '78 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
Like old Dr Pepper sometimes she's misunderstood
And like the Colonel's Chicken boys she's finger lickin' good
She knows when I need her and she's always super quick
When I reach to light a cigarette she's there to flickin' bics
She's my bic flicking baby and I want the world to know
That my Bic flicking baby's with me everywhere I go
I've tried Betty Sue and Mary Lou and I've always got my kicks
But they can't hold a light to baby when it comes to flicking bics
[ guitar ]
She's my haticol my geritol my pepper upper too
Anytime it's smoking time she knows just what to do
She's built like Dolly Parton there's no problem she can't lick
Without fail when I inhale she's there to flick my bic
She's my bic flickin' baby...
But they can't hold a light to baby when it comes to flickin' bics

FOR TEARS TO COME
(Steve Collom)
« © '78 Milene Music, ASCAP »
Step by step you been leaving any day now you'll be gone
Leaving me with your mem'ry and I'll miss you for tears to come
And it's killin' me to know that I can't hold you
All the ties that bind have somehow come undone
Maybe someday I will love another but I'll miss you for tears to come
[ harmonica + steel ]
I'll get by somehow without you after all life still goes on
But I know I can't forget you and I'll miss you for tears to come
And it's killin' me to know...
Yes I'll miss you for tears to come

TWO LONELY PEOPLE
(Ed Penney - Tom Benjamin)
« © '78 Milene Music, ASCAP »
It was dark it was lonely it was late it was Monday
And I was looking and she was sittin' at the bar
She was crying and I was trying to get her attention
But she didn't seem to notice that I was standing there at all
Two lonely people one lonely night
Nothing behind us nothing in sight
The later it got the more it looked right
For two lonely people one lonely night
[ guitar ]
She looked up and I was smiling I filled her glass and she stopped crying
It was late it was Monday it was free
And they were playing some old love song though I hadn't danced in so long
She took me by the hand and I held her close to me
Two lonely people one lonely night...
For two lonely people one lonely night

MOM AND DAD'S WALTZ
(Lefty Frizzell)
« © '51 Peer International, BMI / Unichappell Music, BMI »
(I'll never forget the night that Lefty Frizzell
Call me at home back in December of 1974
And sang me a song on the phone that he and Whitey Shaffer had written
Called Bandy The Rodeo Clown
I was really thrilled and flattered that he take enough time
To help write a song just for me
I'm sorry that he couldn't be around to see how much this song helped me
Before he passed away in August of 1975 shortly after the song was released
It's a special song to me and I guess it always will be
Here's another song that I guess is my favorite of all the songs he ever wrote
And I'd like to dedicate it to his memory and my mom and dad)
I'd walk for miles cry or smile for mama and daddy
I love them I want them to know
How I feel my love is real for my mama and daddy
I want them to know I love them so
In my heart the joy tears start cause I'm happy
And I pray every day for mom and pappy and each night
I'd walk for miles cry or smile for my mama and daddy
I want them to know I love them so
[ steel ]
In my heart the joy tears start...

I NEVER MISS A DAY (MISSING YOU)
(Carl Belew - Van Givens - Moe Bandy)
« © '78 Acuff-Rose Music, BMI »
I never take a drink or go out dancin'
When you live alone that's hard to do
I might miss a chance to find a new love
But I never miss a day missing you
Last night I thought that I had lost your mem'ry
But it turned up this morning good as new
I wake up to find you'd been walking through my mind
And I never miss a day missing you
I never miss a day missing you
That's one thing that I know I'll never do
Each day my world's a deeper shade of blue
And I never miss a day missing you
[ steel - fiddle ]
I never miss a day missing you...
Never miss a day missing you

YIPPI CRY AI
(Joe Allen - Buck Lindsey)
« © '78 Tree Publishing, BMI »
I'm a cowboy who knows just how far you can go
And still lose a love of your lady
If you're a real cowboy you'll live with the pain
But you'll bow down your head like a tramp in the rain
And it's yippi cry ai I'm ridin' again
Holding my side till my broken heart mends
In need of a shoulder to hold up my chin
Yippi cry ai I've lost her again
It's the first cold one that I've had today
But I've been up all night and it's early
A bad right ain't good when you've got hell to pay
I tried to hang with her and I will all the way
And it's yippi cry ai I'm ridin' again...
In need of a shoulder to hold up my chin
Yippi cry ai I've lost her again
