Many artists re-recorded their earlier mono hits in stereo as that technology became more widespread, and Eddy Arnold Sings Them Again is exactly that — new stereo recordings of 11 of Arnold's hits from 1947-1956. A 12th song, "I Walk Alone," wasn't a hit for Arnold but was one of his earliest recordings in 1945. This kind of re-recording project is often disposable, and Eddy Arnold Sings Them Again is no exception. The album package served its purpose in 1960 by providing fans with a higher-fidelity and more modern-sounding anthology of popular songs, but in most cases Arnold did not significantly update the arrangements. One exception is the remake of his 1950 hit "The Lovebug Itch," which is performed in a mild rock & roll style.

SINGS THEM AGAIN (RCA Victor LSP-2185)
May/1960
Produced by Chet Atkins
Recorded: Dec/1959
I begged you to be different but you'll always be untrue
I'm tired of forgiving now there's nothing left to do
So I'm sending you a big bouquet of roses
One for every time you broke my heart [ steel - ac.guitar ]
I know that I should hate you after all you've put me through
But how can I be bitter when I'm still in love with you
So I'm sending you a big bouquet of roses
One for every time you broke my heart

The stars up in the sky know the reason why
I feel so blue when I'm away from you
I'll hold you in my heart till I can hold you in my arms
So darling please wait for me
The stars up in the sky know the reason why...

The dream I built for us has tumbled
Each promise broken like my heart
It's a sin my darling how I love you
So much in love and yet so far apart
It's a sin to keep this mem'ry of you
When people know I'm still in love with you
I'm sure you're happy with another
Who shares the love I could not win
Why pretend that I can't live without you
When deep inside I know that it's a sin

Anytime you're thinking bout me
That's the time I'll think of you
Anytime you say you want me back again
That's the time I'll come back home to you [ guitar ]
Anytime will be the right time
Anytime at all will do
Anytime you say you want me back again
That's the time I'll come back home to you

By stars above I swear to love you
With all the love I've ever known
While we're apart you'll always own me
When teardrops start I walk alone
The flame of love is brightly burning
You know that I'm your very own
Each night I pray for your returning
But while you're gone I walk alone

No you don't know the one who dreams of you at night
And longs to kiss your lips and longs to hold you tight
To you I'm just a friend that's all I've ever been
But you don't know me
For I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with the love for you
Afraid and shy I let my chance go by
The chance you might have loved me too
You gave your hand to me and then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away beside a lucky guy
You'll never never know the one who loves you so
No you don't know me
If I had known you didn't care I wouldn't be so blue
Cause I'd have left my heart at home and played the game like you
I'm hoping that you had your fun cause that handful of kisses
Has broken my trusting heart in two [ guitar ]
I gave you a love that was true for a heart that was fickle
I wish I had known at the time
You had me fooled for a while cause I thought that you meant it
When you said that you would be mine
But now that we have said goodbye I see the light of day
I had a moment of happiness but what a price to pay
I traded a heart full of love for a handful of kisses
That you were just throwing away

She's my Texarkana baby do I love her Lowdy Law
Her pappy came from Texas and her maw from Arkansaw
She's pretty as a picture and you ought to hear her name
It's sweet as sarghum syrup and good ol' blue ribbon cane
She gives me lots of sugar and she never spills a grain
She's my Texarkana baby
She's my Texarkana baby do I love her Lowdy Law
Her pappy came from Texas and her maw from Arkansaw
One night I went a callin' on my pretty little maid
I must admit to you I was a little bit afraid
To offer her a diamond ring with one installment paid
She's my Texarkana baby
She's my Texarkana baby do I love her Lowdy Law
Her pappy came from Texas and her maw from Arkansaw
She's got two eyes that twinkle like a good ol' country star
She's got a perfect figure that'll stop you wherever you are
Why everytime I look at her I think of my guitar
She's my Texarkana baby
