Swing Low Sweet Chariot

Traditional

© Carbert Music, BMI

I looked over Jordan and what did I see
Comin' fore to carry me home
A band of angels comin' after me
Comin' fore to carry me home

Swing low swing low sweet chariot
Comin' fore to carry me home
Swing low swing low sweet chariot
Comin' fore to carry me home

If you get there before I do
Comin' fore to carry me home
Tell all of my friends I'm comin' too
Comin' fore to carry me home

Swing low swing low sweet chariot...
[ steel - guitar ]
I remember well my brightest day
Comin' fore to carry me home
When Jesus washed my sins away
Comin' fore to carry me home

Swing low swing low sweet chariot...

I'm sometimes up and I'm sometimes down
Comin' fore to carry me home
But still my soul feels heavenly bound
Comin' fore to carry me home

Swing low swing low sweet chariot...

Take My Hand Precious Lord

Thomas A. Dorsey

© Hill And Range Songs, BMI

When my way growith drear precious Lord linger near
When my life is almost gone
Hear my cry hear my call hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord lead me home

Precious Lord take my hand lead me on let me stand
I am tired I am weak I am worn
Through the storm through the night lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord lead me home

When the shadows appear and the night draweth near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand guide my feet hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord lead me home

Precious Lord take my hand lead me on let me stand...

Old Country Church

J.D. Sumner - James Vaughn

© Gospel Quartet Music, BMI

There's a place dear to me where I'm longin' to be
With my friends at the ole country church
Where with mother we went and our Sundays were spent
With our friends at the ole country church

Precious years of memory
Oh what joy they bring to me
How I long once more to be
With my friends at the old country church

Sometimes in fond mem'ry my thoughts go back to the ole country church
That I attended as a boy
You know it's kinda funny how we cling to ole bygone days and bygone places isn't it
Why it seems like only yesterday that my mother took my childish hand in hers
And led me slowly down that long winding path to hear the word of God
And I seem to sense his presence more strongly there than anyplace I've ever known
There with the singin' of the birds and the humming of the bees
I knew that God was surely there
I knew it just as surely as if he'd laid his hand on my shoulder
And said welcome to my house son
Ah but years have passed and times has brought many heartaches and many tears
I've seen my mother pass onto the great beyond and many loved ones have followed
And I've seen them go with dispairing hearts and tear dimmed eyes
And now in later years as I stroll along
The grassy footpaths to the ole country churchyard
And I view the final resting place of my departed kin
I'm consoled by the thought that their sleep is a happy one
There in the place where God and men are one
And once again I seem to hear the voice of our gentle shepherd saying
Welcome welcome to my house my son

Precious years with memory...

Nearer My God To Thee

Noell Mason

© Robbins Music, ASCAP

Nearer my God to Thee nearer to Thee
In though it be a cross that raises me

Still all my songs shall be nearer my God to Thee
Nearer my God to Thee nearer to Thee

Though like a wanderer the sun come down
Darkness be over me my rest a stone

Yet in my dreams I'd be nearer my God to Thee
Nearer my God to Thee nearer to Thee
[ organ ]
There let the way appear steps unto heaven
All that Thou sendeth me in mercy given

Angels to beckon me nearer my God to Thee
Nearer my God to Thee nearer to Thee

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

Thomas A. Dorsey - R.E. Winsett

© Bridge Building Music, BMI

I am weak but Thou art strong
Jesus keep me from all wrong
I'll be satisfied as long
As I walk let me walk close to Thee

Just a closer walk with Thee
Grant it Jesus is my plea
Daily walkin' close to Thee
Let it be dear Lord let it be
[ guitar ]
When my feeble life is o'er
Time for me will be no more
Guide me gently safely o'er
To Thy kingdom shore to Thy shore

Just a closer walk with Thee...

Where No One Stands Alone

Mosie Lister

© Mosie Lister Songs, BMI

Once I stood in the night with my head bowed low
In the darkness as black as the sea
And my heart felt alone and I cried oh Lord
Don't hide your face from me

Hold my hand all the way ev'ry hour ev'ry day
From here to the great unknown
Take my hand let me stand where no one stands alone
[ steel ]
I may live like a queen in a palace so tall
With great riches to call my own
A but there's not a thing in this whole wide world
That's worse than bein' alone

Hold my hand all the way ev'ry hour ev'ry day...

Precious Memories

J.B.F. Wright

© Bridge Building Music, BMI

Precious mem'ries unseen angels
Sent from somewhere to my soul
How they linger ever near me
As the sacred past unfolds

Precious mem'ries how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
[ piano ]
Precious father loving mother
Fly across the lonely years
And the old home scenes of my childhood
In fond memory appear

Precious mem'ries how they linger...

Old Rugged Cross

George Bernard

© Word Music, ASCAP

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners were slain

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
[ steel ]
To the old rugged cross I will ever be true
It's shame and reproach gladly bear
Then he'll call me some day to my home far away
Where his glory forever I'll share

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross...

Beyond The Sunset

Bob Nolan - Sam Gobble

© Peer Int, BMI

(Beyond the sunset for evermore)

Should you go first and I remain to walk the road alone
I'll live in memory's garden dear with happy days we've known
In spring I'll watch for roses red and shades of lilac blue
In early fall when the brown leaves fall then I'll catch a glimpse of you

Should you go first and I remain to finish with the scroll
No lengthening shadows shall creep in to make this life seem droll
We've known so much of happiness yes we've had our cup of joy
And memory is one gift of God that death cannot destroy

Should you go first and I remain there's one thing I'd have you do
Walk slowly down that long path for soon I'll follow you
I want you to know each step I take so that you may walk the same
For someday down that lonely road you'll hear me call your name

Beyond the sunset oh glad reunion
With our dear loved ones who've gone before
In that fair homeland we'll know no parting
Beyond the sunset for evermore

Peace In The Valley

Thomas A. Dorsey

© Hill And Range Songs, BMI

Well I'm tired and so weary but I must go along
Till the Lord comes and calls me calls me away oh yes
Where the morning's so bright and the lamb is the light
And the night night is as black as the sea oh yes

There will be peace in the valley for me some day
There will be peace in the valley for me oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness no sorrow no trouble I see
There will be peace in the valley for me oh yes
[ guitar ]
Oh the bear will be gentle and the wolf will be tame
And the lion shall lay down by lamb oh yes
And the beast from the wild will be led by a child
And I'll be changed changed from this creature that I am some day

There will be peace in the valley for me some day...

Lord's Prayer

Albert Mallotte - Arnold Strals

© Deveras Music, BMI

Our father which art in heaven hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever
Amen
